Version v1.0 (Development Phase)
Section titled “Version v1.0 (Development Phase)”ThaiMusicXML v1.0 is the first version. The standard is being defined and implemented, focusing on core concepts and basic functionality.

Not covered in v1.0
Section titled “Not covered in v1.0”These are known gaps, deferred to a later version rather than overlooked. A v1.0 document can only record them as free-form <annotation> text.
- หน้าทับ and percussion patterns.
<nathap>records which cycle a piece is set against, but the cycle itself is not modelled: nothing describes its length or its strokes, and nothing can be derived from the name. Instruments such as ตะโพน and กลองแขก are written out as unpitched parts as before. - Multiple verses. A lyric part carries one set of words. A second verse over the same melody has to be written as a second lyric part, and nothing marks the two as alternatives to each other.
- เอื้อน as such. A
<rest>in a lyric row locates เอื้อน and says how long it runs, which is as far as v1.0 goes. There is no marker naming it, and no way to notate the shape of the vocalization. - Ornamentation. Techniques such as กรอ have no dedicated markup.
<group>covers subdivision, and a<link>span marks a run as one gesture, which is as near as v1.0 comes to naming a สะบัด. Neither says which technique is meant. - Simultaneous pitches within one part. A
<note>carries one pitch, so คู่แปด and similar intervals cannot be written on a single line. Instruments that need more than one line split across astackof parts instead. - ทาง.
<tuning>fixes what pitch ด sounds at, but there is no element for the ทาง a piece is played in. - Directions inside a section. A
<direction>sits in<structure>, between sections, so tempo and ชั้น can only change at a section boundary. A piece that speeds up over its last two lines has to say so in an<annotation>. - A variation on one play of a repeated line range.
<ending>varies a pass of a section, so “ซ้ำ, เที่ยวสองลงจบอีกอย่าง” over a<line-repeat>range cannot be written as such. Writing the lines out a second time, with the variation, says the same music at the cost of the repeat bracket.
